Tender Notice for GIS Based DPR Preparation for 40 Watershed Development Fund Projects of NABARD.

Background:
NABARD has been instrumental in developing the most vulnerable watersheds of the country over a span of more than 20 years with its two major funding projects of Watershed Development Fund (WDF) and Tribal Development Fund (TDF). Over this period, NABARD has worked in more than 2600 watersheds, which has strengthened the vulnerable agriculture communities by providing the basic resource of water and conserving soil as well. The preparation of DPRs for the watershed management and developmental tasks using the conventional methods have their limitations. On the other hand, the advancements in technology have proven to be useful in minimizing the effect of these delays. GIZ has been supporting NABARD in capacitating its Project facilitating agencies of WDF projects in using such techniques like GIS and Remote Sensing (RS) along with verified open source datasets to their benefit. This support will continue for the coming years in the 40 WDF projects, for which a Technical Agency (TA) is required.
Objectives:
The task is to build the capacities of the project facilitating agencies and members of the village watershed committees for better watershed development planning while including certain agroecological principles as well. This ultimate aim is to be accomplished by leveraging the technical advancements and trainings on GIS and its usage in the same.
Tasks of the assignment:
1. Capacitating project facilitating agencies (PFAs) and village level committees of all the 40 projects, and building their capacities on usage of GIS and RS for watershed development and management.
2. Sensitize the village level functionaries towards better watershed level planning techniques.
3. Conducting regular training programs (both physical and virtual), with timely follow ups and submissions of GIS based outputs for each thematic layer.
4. Submission of all the planned/proposed activities in the Net-planning and other proformas of NABARDs WDF guidelines as a part of the DPR preparation.
