Background:
GIZ, on behalf of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), has partnered with Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEFCC) in implementing Indo-German Technical Cooperation project titled “Climate Adaption & Finance in Rural India (CAFRI)” in the state of Himachal Pradesh with the Department of Environment, Science & Technology (DEST), Government of Himachal Pradesh. The overall aim of this project is to support partners in reducing climate change risks for vulnerable target groups and sectors, capacity building of actors (different levels) in the planning, implementation & financing of climate adaptation initiatives and knowledge management & networking for exchange of information related to adaptation at the State level. The project further supports stakeholders at the national and subnational level in policy formulation, preparation and implementation of tools and instruments which address climate change adaptation.
CAFRI project is supporting DEST in strengthening information exchange on climate change, and coordination among relevant stakeholders at state level. For supporting the information and knowledge exchange a Climate Change Reference Centre (CCRC) is being designed in Himachal Pradesh. The reference centre will be a physical space at DEST which will be equipped with smart TVs and digital kiosks (details in annex 1) that will support learning on climate change for stakeholders at the state and national level. The CCRwill be a one-stop-platform to gain knowledge about climate change adaptation and mitigation, its approaches through interactive web-based learnings etc. and will act as a digital repository for climate change knowledge and references at regional, national, and international level. An outline of content to be displayed at CCRC has been developed (details given further).
Tasks of the assignment:
Work Package I: Developing the content of CCRC based on the listed modules in Table 1
Work Package 2: Running and displaying the finalised content as per WP 1
Work Package 3.1: Development of multimedia application based on the modules listed in Table 1, WP1 and WP2
Work Package 3.2: User testing, Launch, Integration and Maintenance
Work package 4: Developing 5 3D Scale Models as listed in Table 1 Module 5
